Christhome’s mission is to walk hand-in-hand with our families to support the educational and spiritual growth of our children. Educationally we provide excellent and rigorous academics in a fun and loving environment.
Spiritually we support our children with weekly worship services which include prayer, worship, and scripture. We are a Holy Spirit led school with a desire to see our children grow in their faith and be lights for the kingdom of God in our cities and beyond.
Our children are in classes from Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and on Thursdays and Fridays are church days for our children. On these days parents will follow the teacher provided lesson plans with their children.

The problem of limited and poor-quality education in Nabweya Top village and its surrounding is multifaceted and deeply rooted in socio-economic challenges. The scarcity of established schools means that many children, particularly those from impoverished backgrounds, are deprived of their fundamental right to education. The existing government school is a stark example of neglect, characterized by dilapidated structures, separated and very far distance between schools and majority of families including our orphanage hence this pose safety risks and offer an unconducive learning environment. The absence of basic amenities like proper roofs and doors, windows, and sufficient furniture further hinders effective teaching and learning.
While private schools have attempted to fill the void, their fees structures are prohibitive for the predominantly peasantry community, making quality education a luxury rather than a right. The long distances children must walk to reach these schools also acts as a significant barrier, leading to fatigue and reduced attendance.
Furthermore, the vulnerability of children due to parental loss (e.g., to AIDS) leaves them without financial or emotional support, pushing them further into poverty and out of school. Disabled children face even more severe marginalization; lacking specialized support and inclusive educational settings, they are often confined to their homes, unable to develop their full potential. This exclusion contributes to their continued dependency and limits their future employment prospects in a region already grappling with high unemployment. The current situation perpetuates a cycle of illiteracy, poverty, and idleness, hindering the community’s overall development.
The information provided clearly highlights the urgent need for a new, modern Christian school in Nabweya Top village. The community’s inability to support capital projects for existing schools due to financial constraints and the government’s limited infrastructure grants underscore a critical gap in educational provision. The desire expressed by the community for a modern Christian school with up-to-date facilities further reinforces this need. The high number of unprivileged children, including those with disabilities, without appropriate educational support is a clear indicator of the dire situation.
